Whatsapp Pocket allows users to transfer and backup chats from their iPhones to their Macs. It comes with a very easy-to-use and clean interface, and chats display beautifully on the Mac once the transfer is complete. Libraries can be created and organized, it is possible to use keyword searches to find specific text, and photos or videos can be stored as well.
You can tell that a lot of work went into designing and laying out this beautiful little utility. It completely eliminates the need to painstakingly copy and paste every message or save chats to the phone prior to exporting them. Everything can be done in real-time through simple drag-and-drop movements, and the chats look the same once they are displayed on the Mac.
This software doesn't include a lot of options or features, but there is really no need for a lot of extras. It works beautifully, and I am completely happy with being able to save and transfer my chats for easy access on my computer later.
The biggest drawback is that this program only works for the iPhone and Mac. Android users are out of luck. Some of the apps that are available on the Android market pale in comparison to what Apple users can enjoy. Another limitation is that I can only transfer files and store chats to my Mac. It doesn't work for Windows systems either, and this is sure to disappoint many iPhone users who have PCs.
The programs are small, and installation is virtually automatic. All I needed to do was to select the directory, choose some basic configurations and then wait. I was transferring and organizing chat histories before I knew it, and I have yet to find another program that is as user-friendly as the Whatsapp Pocket. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a Mac and needs to log or record their Whatsapp conversations.
